Train Path Management
IMPACT™ enables earlier decisions to be made
on train path conflicts and disruption minimised by
forecasting and updating train paths in the near-future timeframe.
This application can be used during normal running and during
perturbation management.
Actual train performance and current network status are monitored
and IMPACT™ uses this information, together with sophisticated
analysis of past performance, to provide accurate predictions
of train-path conflicts and time-loss events.
IMPACT™ then provides advance notification of train path conflicts
enabling earlier and better decision-making and better service
delivery. The potential time-loss impact is also assessed to
focus attention on the most important conflicts.

Real-Time Performance Management
IMPACT™ provides the facility to create and record performance
events on locations and track sections.
Together with sophisticated analysis of the movements of trains
and signal state information it diagnoses the likely
cause of time-loss to trains and allows users to associate
time-loss events with their cause .
Where the cause is interference with another train the details
are recorded and the association can be made automatically or
reviewed by the user.
Using the mobile capability and messaging features
of IMPACT™, details related to time-loss and /or performance events
can be created and shared by all staff and requests for information
can also be sent to field based staff.
These requests can be responded to more quickly and easily thus improving
the efficiency of the performance management process.
Flexibility: While IMPACT™ can be configured to mirror TRUST
reporting locations and thresholds it can also be configured
to operate at greater levels of granularity with different threshold
levels. Performance
cause
categories can also be made bespoke
allowing users to record and analyse data in the manner required
to manage their performance.
