IMPACT™ allows users to define and manage the network
infrastructure and then to analyse its performance.
In creating the network schematics, details of infrastructure
assets are entered including mapping assets to locations. These
details can then be interrogated and used within the processing.
IMPACT™ also calculates other network information from
the schematic such as:
Possible berth steps
Train paths between locations
Conflicting train paths.
This network information can then be interrogated and the network
performance analysed.
Examples of the type of network metrics available include:
- Section running times
- Station dwell profiles
- The number of point movements
- Line capacity.
This information can be used to make decisions about train-pathing
and planning, capacity utilisation and network maintenance.
